Exciting News! 🌟

We’re thrilled to announce that Sara Bangla Krishak Society (SBKS) won the FAO Achievement Award-2023 🏆. SBKS’s outstanding work through the Missing Middle Initiative (Digital Villages) financed by the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) has empowered over 10,000 smallholder farmers, enhanced food security, and boosted the rural economy. 👏🌾

Dhaka, Bangladesh. 14 March, 2022. Robert Simpson, Representative, FAO Bangladesh and Takayuki Hagiwara Regional Programme Leader (RAP) posed for photograph with the farmer group while they are visiting MMI project of FAO at Rangpur, Bangladesh.

Rita Bramma, President of Sara Bangla Krishak Society said: “This achievement of the Sara Bangla Krishak Society belongs to all small and marginal farmers. This award gives a much-needed sense of unity and solidarity during a time of another potential food crisis due to the global economic recession. Let us continue to work together to face it as we did with COVID-19! We are grateful to FAO, our donor, GAFSP and the Ministry of Agriculture, Bangladesh for their continuous support to smallholders through producers’ organizations.”

A big thank you to colleagues at SBKS, and to all our partners and donors for making this incredible achievement possible.
