The organogram of SBKS

The society shall have the following bodies:

  • The General Body
  • The Executive Committee
  • The Advisory Committee

The General Body

All the member FOs of the Society will constitute the General Body of the Society.

b) Meetings

i) General Body Meeting shall be held once in every calendar year. The first few General Body Meetings shall be held more frequently to set the tone of the Society.

ii) Only nominated representative farmer leaders from each member FO can join in the general body meeting.

ii) Not less than 15 days notice shall be given to all members for the General Body Meetings. The quorum of such a meeting shall be 1/3 (one-third) of all members of the General Body. In the absence of the quorum, the meeting shall be adjourned.

iii)        Emergency General Body Meeting may be called on a short notice of 2 days. While efforts would be made to ensure maximum attendance, no quorum is required for such emergency meetings.

iv) The President shall preside over all the General Body Meetings. In the absence of the President, the Vice-President shall preside. In the absence of the Vice-President, a Governing Body member authorized by the President shall preside over the meeting.

Executive Committee

a) The number of members of the Executive Committee (including the office bearers and the executive members) shall be not less than 7 and not more than 15.

b) The term of every Executive Committee shall be three years.

c) Meetings

i) Executive Committee Meetings shall be held at least quarterly or more frequently as decided by the Executive Committee from time to time.

ii) Not less than 15 days notice shall be given to all members for the Executive Committee Meetings. The quorum of such a meeting shall be 2/3 (two-third) of all members of the Executive Committee (including the office bearers and executive members).

The Advisory Committee

There shall be an advisory committee of not more than 5 (five) persons, to be nominated by the EC. It shall render advisory support on any critical agricultural issues requested by the EC and general body. The EC will try to make good use of suggestions made by the advisory committee.

Bank Account

All Bank Accounts will be opened in any Nationalized/Commercial Scheduled Bank. Bank accounts shall be operated by the joint signature of THREE office bearers among president/secretary, treasurer and any one from the executive committee. Among these three, one must be a female farmer leader.
